The Center for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is involved in modeling and design of chemical processes and separation processes in a broad sense. Application areas cover chemical, biotechnical and biogeochemical processes as well as wastewater treatment and include production of ethanol from biomass, enzymes for cellulose hydrolysis , fermentation technology for hydrolysates and a process development unit (PDU) for ethanol production.
