These joint recommendations of the European Technology and Innovation Platforms on the draft revised National Energy & Climate Plans (NECPs) cover six key areas in which Research & Innovation (R&I) can play a significant role for the deployment of renewables. The recommendations stem from an analysis of the the draft revised NECPs submitted by Member States to the European Commission made by ETIP Bioenergy, ETIP Geothermal, ETIP Hydropower, ETIP Ocean, ETIP Photovoltaics, ETIP Renewable Heating and Cooling, ETIP SNET, BATTERIES EUROPE and ETIP Wind. Implementing these recommendations in the updated NECPs will boost the development and deployment of renewables, reinvigorating the EU’s position as a global leader in renewables innovation.

This free webinar will explore the various renewable energy technologies that are already integrated or can be integrated into industrial processes, and will provide industry examples of their deployment. Organised by ETIP Bioenergy in partnership with ETIP Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-ETIP), CST4ALL, and ETIP Geothermal, the webinar will also discuss the opportunities that the recently agreed Net Zero Industry Act will create for European RES technologies. This May Working Group 3 Distribution and End Use organized a webinar on the deployment of ethanol E10 in the EU. ePURE, the European trade association of ethanol producers, provided an overview of the E10 situation in the EU, the current bottlenecks to its wider adoption and the opportunities it can offer to contribute to the EU target of renewable energy in transports in 2030. This webinar organized by Working Group 2 - Conversion Processes, presented experts views and examples of BioCCS projects in the EU. The presentations covered the state of play of CCS in Europe and the role of carbon removals, NGOs views on sustainable and credible BioCCS deployment, the Hafslund Oslo Celsio CCS project and the BECCUS project at the Amer & Eemshaven Power Station.
