Activities are focused on R& D covering the technologies of materials and their processes (e.g. design, manufacture, transformation and finishing), with sustainability as a key issue. Active in a range of European RTD Projects projects concerned with environmental and renewable energy technologies - including biofuels, hydrogen and fuel cells and is currently working with several local producers to research and develop processes for the valorization of residual glycerine from production processes based on used frying oils (UFO). A participant in the European Project OILPRODIESEL developing an integrated system to produce biodiesel from UFO.
