CRB Italian Biomass Research Centre

The CRB Biomass Research Center is the Italian reference research centre for biofuels and biomass for renewable energy applications. The CRB was instituted and financed by the Italian Ministry of Environment in November 2003 within the University of Perugia, where more than 40 researchers are now involved in 15 national and international project and 2 Intelligent Energy Europe IEE programmes. The CRB also supports the Agriculture Ministry and the Environment Ministry in preparing draft legislation relating to bioenergy and biofuels. A Decree of the Environment Ministry and the Development and Industry Ministry ref. D.M. 24 October 2005 - G.U.n. 265 del 14.11.2005 identifies the CRB as the Italian Centre used by the national authority GSE for certification of Green certified incentives for energy produced from biomass.
