The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republika Srpska is an independent state agency that performs administrative and other tasks in several areas and is directly subordinate to the government. The Ministry aims to make the Republika Srpska economically strong, surrounded by a healthy environment with preserved resources, developed agriculture and content producers and consumers. The Ministry manages administrative and other professional tasks related to the protection and use of agricultural land, protection of agricultural products and products of pathogens, pests and weeds, production and trade of seeds and planting materials. Moreover, it is involved in activities of training of agricultural producers, production and improvement, breeding and selection of livestock, food industry, animal feed industry, beverage industry. It is also in regards of the improvement of production forestry, silviculture, protection, development and improvement of forests, state forest resources, deforestation, afforestation of degraded forests and bare lands and related matters.
