he Ministry of Agriculture is the central public administrative authority for agriculture, the water sector and the food processing industry, and for forestry, game management, hunting and fishing. The Ministry is also the central public administrative authority for commodity exchanges which organise trade in goods originating from agricultural and forestry production.
In addition to this, it acts as the central public administrative authority for veterinary and phytosanitary services, food safety and quality management, the prevention of cruelty to animals, and protection of rights regarding new varieties of plants and breeds of animals.
