Energy Efficiency Agency of Moldova

Energy Efficiency Agency is the administrative body for energy efficiency and renewable energy sector created through the reorganization of the National Energy Conservation Agency.  

Energy Efficiency Agency is subordinated to the Ministry of Economy - the central specialized authority of the public administration in the energy sector. Energy Efficiency Agency is responsible for the implementation of state policies in creating the preconditions for improving the energy efficiency; supporting the structures are also involved in the development and implementation of the programs, plans, offering of energy services, and other measures for optimization of the energy consumption.  Established in December 2010, EEA aims to: 

• implement state policies in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources; 

• participate in drafting national programs, action plans and normative acts including technical regulations and standards in the above mentioned fields; 

• develop minimum Energy Efficiency requirements for devices and equipments produced in or imported to the Republic of Moldova and submit them for approval to the central branch authority in charge of the energy sector; 

• draft Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy innovative programmes and to provide assistance to the central and local public authorities in drafting such programmes.
