CIRCE has several years of experience on R&I relted to biomass in several fields: - Studying new logistic chains that allow the creation of new business lines around the use of biomass for energy generation, covering the potential of available materials and waste, their treatment and adaptation and all the logistics necessary for their distribution and marketing. - Analysis of biomass-based combustion systems, to study and validate the properties of a type of biomass or combustion equipment and develop the appropriate improvement measures. This line also pursues the replacement of applications based on fossil resources with others that use biomass resources. - Biomass conversion technologies (gasification and other thermochemical processes). - H2 production from biomass. CIRCE is currently involved in the BioTheRoS (Collaborative Actions to Bring Novel Biofuels Thermochemical Routes into Industrial Scale) project, where it is in chare of the analysis and evaluation of new value chains for biomass valorisation to aviation and maritime biofuels.
