SET4BIO Innovation Challenge Event: focus on Value Chain Potential (20 May 2021)
"The first event really opened up for a good discussion on how all the great ideas of the participants can become even better." – Ludvig Lindlöf
The first theme-based virtual event of the SET4BIO Innovation Challenge, held on the last 20 of May, was focused on Value Chain Potential, and it was successfully moderated by Ludvig Lindlöf (RISE - Research Institutes of Sweden). It included interesting presentations from the participating teams, feedback from a board of experts, and presentations about funding opportunities.
The event was attended by the seven participating teams who all presented their solutions for renewable fuels and bioenergy. The experts contributed with their extensive knowledge and provided valuable feedback to the participating teams, focusing on the value chain potential of the proposed solutions. The board of experts consisted of Patrik Klintbom, Chair at ETIP Bioenergy and Senior researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Luc Pelkmans, Technical Coordinator at IEA Bioenergy, and Johanna Mossberg, Department Manager for the Department of Biorefinery and Energy at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, and Board Member of Svebio. The feedback was given verbally to the participants during the event but was also distributed in written form thereafter.
Three interesting presentations were held about funding opportunities associated to European Innovation; these were respectively presented by Nuno Quental, European Innovation Council - Financial instruments at European Commission, Jacopo Losso, EBAN Director of Secretariat, and Leon Pulles, Senior Investment Advisor and Managing Partner at Energy Investment Management BV. All the three presentations were highly appreciated by the participating teams.
The next event, which will focus on Innovation Height, will be held on 30 June.
